Automechanika Chicago Brings Quality Leads

May 7, 2015

Well, we are finally caught up after returning from Automechanika Chicago, lots of quality leads and connections to be had out there.  So far, it was the biggest tradeshow we have exhibited at with our growing company and it was a resounding success!

It was Automechanika’s inaugural event in the United States, and we heard a few other vendors exclaim that there wasn’t a large enough turn out to meet their projected numbers.  Sure, there might have been less attendees than say SEMA, but it’s not famous in the states like SEMA…yet.  We feel though, that the attendees carried more weight, we weren’t being held up by “tire kickers” who weren’t actually interested in our product.  Those that stopped by our booth were serious in their interest and had a better idea of what they were looking for.  Plenty of decision makers for collision shops, dealer groups, and fleet managers.

It’s a shame really that this show is only held every two years, as we had a blast in Chicago and made a lot of friends in the industry.  It’s always entertaining to see people’s reaction to our product for the first time.  I try so hard to promote us, but I know I can’t get our links in front of everyone, so it’s nice to see them walk up and say,”…never heard of mobile wheel repair…”

It’s even better when they decide they want the set-up after being exposed to the idea!  I tell some of these fixed operations managers, why do you still send your wheels to a reman shop? The turnaround time is a killer, plus shipping and everything else.  Or the tradeoff of having to hire an outside wheel repair guy come and get overspray all over your lot!

In summation, Custom Upfits cannot wait till 2017 for the next Automechanika show !
